History of Our School

Creek View Elementary School

Creek View Elementary School first opened its doors to students in grades K-5 in 1985.  Creek View was the first school in California to be built under the Mello-Roos Community Facilities Act in order to meet the needs of the growing community.  Creek View is located in the Creekside Housing development in the southeast corner of the city of Ontario.  Current enrollment is approximately 630 students.  Student body demographics, ethnic diversity, and multicultural flavor are reflective of the district and the community it serves.  This diversity is a great asset to students facing the multicultural world of today.

Mountain View School District, originally established in 1884, has proudly served the Ontario community for 132 years.  There are three elementary schools (K-5) and one middle school (6-8) in the District.  Students from Mountain View School District attend high schools in the Chaffey Joint Union High School District.  The District is proud of its long tradition of academic excellence.

Creek View has various programs to meet the needs of students including:  English Language Development (ELD), Special Education, Homework Club, and after school Intervention in English Language Arts and Mathematics.  Positive behavior and academic growth is awarded to students through:  STAR-buck tickets, Perfect/Excellent Attendance Awards, Trimester Assemblies, 100 Mile Club participants, Pizza with the Principal, and Noon Sports Awards.

A safe school environment is a priority at Creek View School.  Disaster preparedness plans are in place and includes monthly practice drills for all students and staff members.  Creek View continues to be a leader in the field of student accessibility in the area of technology.  There are multiple Chrome Book Carts and a computer lab available for student use, which averages 3 students per device.  Students have access to a wide variety of software programs.

Creek View School is staffed with a Principal, School Office Manager, Attendance Records Technician, Resource Teacher, Special Day Class Teacher, Speech and Language Pathologist, two Media Technicians, one Media Instructional Aide, Paraeduators (English Language Development, Reading, and Special Education) Aides, two part-time Health Office Technicians, Cafeteria and Proctors and teachers.  The Mountain View School District also employs a psychologist, technology director, and nurse that are shared among the district's four schools.
